I just aquired a 1986 Four Winns Suntara, 260hp Chevy 350. The guy did not winterize it last fall, we are in Missouri so i know something would have froze up. I know the gas needs to be drained, and maybe i can get the gas out of the carburetor. What octaine should i use. Other than that, where do i start!!!

Actually, it is a SANtara 205. Can i just refresh the fuel put the ears on it for water and see if i can get it running? If something froze, is the damage already done and i won't make it worse? ANY help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome JWboing to iboats. I would suggest that you try reposting in the I/O forum and see if you can get help there. Till then you may want to hook up the flushing ears, turn on the water, and look for obvious leaks. I would not start the engine till you have thoroughly checked it over. Re post in the other forum and see if the experts can get you started. There are a lot of great folks here at iboats that can help you.
Good Luck,
John
