Re: In Gear ?

The 55 3hp prop will always turn when running, the speed will determine how fast it turns. Post model numbers and HP of all your motors for more information

Re: In Gear ?

Neutral on many small motors like that is accomplished by tieing it to the dock. Or, just point it toward open water.

Re: In Gear ?

Hi dodger. Yup the prop always spins on those guys. They're called "direct drive" and you still see them on some small hp motors. i have a 3 hp, air cooled, direct drive kicker for my little 14' tinny. If you get it dialed in right, you can get the idle nice and low such that the prop just barley spins and moves the boat little if any. That's about as close to "Neutral" as you can get. To go into "Reverse" you just spin the motor around 180 degrees and voila! There are lots of vids on youtube of your motor if you want to see how folks use theirs. Happy boating!
