Hello
I own a 1968 cal 46 that has been retrofitted to rival all the bells and whistles of newer boats. One thing they have not completed is the installation of PROHEAT heater system

My question is I want a system that is not complicated ( less things to go wrong) reliable easy to install that runs on diesel- I have a 360 gal diesel tank.

Anyone know of which brand or model is time tested and proven for reliability and durability ?

Hi Ed,

Choosing the right heater depends on how you want to use the boat and where. If you plan to live aboard in Maine for expample, a 30,000 BTU Proheat will not do the job. If you want to extend your season, in say Annapolis, the Proheat may be too much and too complicated where an Air system will do the job.

Happy to help point you once I know this,

Chuck

Don't expect much of a reply Chuck.
The original poster hasn't even come back to look at this post after posting in in Sept.

No worries Don,

He asked to be contacted via e-mail and I got him on his I phone.

Also, where the heck is Ocean Shores WA? I used to live North of Seattle and I don't recall hearing the name around us.

I actually looked it up after I asked you the question and I see you are just North of Grays Harbor. Never made it over there but do remember the Earthquake that was only a few miles inland from there. We left Seattle in 01 and moved back to the East Coast. We are now smack between NY City and Boston on the CT coast.
