I'm not sure what is better on gas, but an inboard that has bladders you can fill up to make a bigger wake is better for wakeboarding. Also, inboards can turn on a dime so it's better for "slinging" around a tube. But, for a business I'm not sure that you'd be slinging around a tube like you may for personal use.

Re: Inboard vs Outboard?

wakeboarding in the ocean is not reccomended - lots of waves and chop. Also most wakeboats are not designed for use in the ocean. If you want a serious wakeboat go with an inboard - more specifically a v-drive - they produce a better wake than the tradtional inboard. Also - if you go with an I/O you will not be able to wakesurf and the saltwater will eat up your exhaust manifolds and riser.
