Inchangeable parts?????

Hey

Are the parts on a 1979 35 Evinrude inchangeable with the 1986 28 Spl Johnson?Mostly the lower unit parts.

None that I can think of that are worth anything.

Thanks for the help. Also does any one know if there is a book that tells you what are inchangable so I don't have to look it up on the internet.

hi
i thought that the 79 35 hp had thru hub exhaust and the 86 28 hp spl was the older pin drive prop. i always thought the pin drive and thru hub were completly differant lower units. the 28spl is always listed with the 25 hp commercial for parts on the lower unit. a lot of power head parts always seem to be the same.

You are correct, Marquette. Completely different and non-interchangeable lower units.
