Question for you....On the lake in neutral it idles ok at about 1050 rpm, when i pull it in gear the idle falls to around 600 rpm and the sneeze starts and the missing usual kills the motor. Do you think i should retard the timing a little it's 6 degrees now ATDC? And or turn the trottle arm stop screw in a little to bring up the rpm. My concern is that i dont want the rpm to go up in neutral due to not bieng able to shift into gear. If there is a way to get the in gear rpm up a little it may solve my problems.Of course these carbs don't have idle screws.

Re: Increase Idle Speed?

You need to insure it is comming out of Quick Start. Do this with timing light, Check timing cold engine, as engine warms up timing should retard 6 degrees. Warm engine timing should drop back after 5 seconds. Quick Start holds the rpms at about 1100rpms until engine warm

Quick Start working, clean carbs, check recir valves, VRO pump pressure, and do link/sync
