I was told at the lake that some outboards hp can be increased by changing carbs. In theory it seems just like on an auto if you supply more fuel and o2 and the engine can process it than you make more power. But obs have sink n link and stuff like that so now I gotta know if my 84 Johnson 70 might be looking at an upgrade more towards the 100hp my hull is rated for. I almost wish I never heard that cuz it just sped up what I was already thinking.....MORE POWER!!!!!!!!

Re: increasing power

Don't even go there. If you want a 100hp then buy a 100hp. The changes are more expensive if they can be done at all. I wouldn't think that it would cost you too much to trade your 70 for a 100 and a little cash plus a player to be named later.

Re: increasing power

Absolutely no way to change your 70 to a 100hp with a carb change. Period. The 70hp is a 70hp. Can't even be bumped up to a 75 with a carb change. As Fireman pointed out - if you want 100hp, then get a 100....

- Scott
