I would like to buy a tach for 1-2 cylinder two stroke engines. I have a Tiny Tach on my 503 Rotax on my ultralight but I think they work only on the number of cylinders you specify when you order them, one cylinder tach is different than two cylinder. They are about $40.00 and that would be fine if I could find something that would do both. Any ideas.

Re: Inexpensive Test Tach

the Tiny Tach doesn't care how many cylinders a motor has, only about how many revolutions per spark the motor turns.

A 2 stroke fires every revolution so you want the model Tiny Tach that is 1:1. The same applies to "wasted spark" 4-stroke motors which also fire every revolution..

Traditional 4-strokes fire once every other revolution to you would need a 1:2 tach.
