Are these good types of dinghys?(inflatable v-bottom) Getting a RIB/hardbottom is out of the question but i am looking for something so i don't get soaked in spray like my current slat floor dinghy. The one i am looking out can handle up to a 10hp engine i am not sure of the length to be honest i do not remember but i think its in the 8' range. Does it plane easily?
How fast can i get with a johnson 1993 8hp engine?

Yeah, they're great. The performance does not equal a RIB, but they do quite well. An 8 to 10 footer with an 8hp engine will jump on plane quickly and be very fun to drive. You'll get roughly 20mph or a little better with one person.

A bit bouncy from what I have experienced, though when you look at price difference a bit of bounce is worth it. MO :)

I have a Bombard (Zodiac) 10'2 with a wood floor, inflatable keel. I just put a 8hp nissan. It hauls ***.

I'm 6'3 and 215lbs and I can go 23mph in flat water. Yup.. .little bouncy in a light chop with my wife and a cooler of beer, but still runs plenty fast!

I upgraded from a 3.3hp and a roll up floor... OMG!

Oh yes. I forgot the cooler (beer). That may cure the bouncing, perhaps if the wife drove and I drank. It would be better for me anyhow. :)
