Info on 18 hsp Johnson

Need help determining the year and any other info on a Johnson 18 hsp outboard. Bought from an oldtimer and not used in a few years. Model FD-18E, Ser. # J2453945.

I get a 1964 18 HP. Plug is a Champion J4J gapped at .030, 22 CID.

Jeff I have owners manual for 18hp '65 ev. lots of info in there if needed assume they are similar. doug
