Somewhere; probably here on i-boats, I saw mention of a device that monitors the condition of the lower unit oil...and gives warning of water in the oil, metal particles in the oil, and also temperature of the oil.
I'd like to read more about this...but now I can't find and mention of lt. Can someone supply a link or other info?

Thanks, Chuck

Re: Info on Lower Unit Monitor

I got an ir hand held temp reader gun , it is very accurate . you shoot it at anything it tells temp readings . fun to play with .. perhaps that is what you are after . snap on tools sells one . I diagnosed a hot bearing on my distribitor shaft , and it was funny my timing belt was burned .
