info. on old Evinrude

My father in-law just give me this Evinrude. He told me it ran, but only on one cylinder. He said it needed a coil. Can anyone tell me more about this motor? What year is it? What all should I do to it before using it. Where is a good place for parts, new or used?

That's a 1960 10hp. Replacing a coil is not that hard if you're mechanically inclined. They're under the flywheel. Before doing any work on it I'd check the compression to make sure it's worth working on and then actually test the sparks with a proper spark tester. Fuel ratio is 24:1 ratio. TC-W3 oil.

Search this forum on coil replacement and you will find tons of info.

And it looks in pretty good shape inside. I'd fix it up
