I'm wondering if anyone can answer a few questions about an outboard that I am looking at possibly buying... This outboard is a long way away, so I can't easily look at it for details... but the owner claims that it is a Yamaha FT9.9EXH model that appears to have little use. The owner knows little to nothing about the motor because he acquired it on a boat that he bought from someone else. In the pictures, it appears clean and in good shape
It is white in color, electric start, and appears to be manual tilt/trim and long shaft or extra long shaft. My questions are:
1. Can I assume that it would charge the battery, being an electric start model? Anyone know the specs on charging?
2. Anyone have a guess what year it might be?
3. Would this be comparable in performance to one of the brand new T9.9 yamahas?
