I'm currently in the market for a bowrider in the 2004 to 2008 range with low hours. I did find two boats for sale that are private party sales (both in wisconsin). One is a 2006 Four Winns 210 Horizon with 32 hours - asking price $24K. The other is a 2004 Chapparrel 215 SSI that is loaded and only has 13 hours on it. Asking price 25K. Both have 5.0L 220 hp engines and are said to be in very good condition. Any advice on the reliability of either boat and what would be a fair value for either one would be appreciated.

Re: info/opinion on these two boats

honestly i have never even been in either one of these boats so i have no opinion there, but you can go to nada.com and get an ideal about what they may be worth.

on boats its the same as cars. how much you pay for it depends on your haggling ability and how bad you want it...... and as for selling you get what ever you can get for it.

some deals are great some are bad and some you break even......... i think its more of a judgment call.

also get a surveyor to look them over for you to make sure everything is in good order........... i learned the hard way and ended up with 2 rotten bass boats, but i didnt spend near the amount of money you are talking about. its those hidden factors the average joe doesnt know to check and those hidden defects can be expensive.

quality of the boats, and age Four Winns hands down. as far as the power plant, depends on the preventative, and scheduled maintainance.
