I have purchased an older aluminum boat from a buddy. It has a "Buccaneer" outboard motor on it with the model # 12015B and the s/n# 693089. Would anyone be able to provide me with a means of obtaining information on this unit? For instance: fuel/oil mixture ratio, spark plug gap, when the unit was manufactured, and service docs, etc.. Any help would be appreciated.

12D15B is a Gale Buccaneer, 12 hp, 1957, 24:1 fuel mix, champion J6C plug gapped at .030, point gap is .020. Regular marine hypoid oil in the lower unit. Kissin cousins to the Evinrudes/Johnsons of the same era.

Great minds run in the same track ^^

Welcome
Number is 12D15 is a 57.Built by the Gale devision of OMC. 24:1 fuel mix.J6C champion plug set at .030,points set at .020Very similar to Johnson/Evinrude of similar years. Many parts including ignition and carbs are shared.Bucaneer uses a fuel pump instead of pressure tank.
12 and 15 Bucaneers are covered in the same section with 15,18,20hp E/J.
Excellent motors
