I just picked up my 3 new floats from my local mercury dealer and I am wondering if they are the correct ones. I didn't tell them over the phone what my engine serial number is. My motors serial number: 8008578

The floats I received part number: 1395-8673 quicksilver.

The reason I ask is because they appear smaller than two of the floats I am replacing, and the same size as the one of the floats I already have

Same size as the smaller one in the picture. (right hand side)

they are black, appear to be the plastic .not yellow foam.
Cheers :)

Thanks max, I thought they stuffed it up. That marine engine site is tops! My motor is 40 y old and still has most spare parts available.

The reason why 2 of your old ones are larger is because the foam floats have a tendency to swell in ethanol fuel.

The new floats are supposed to be ethanol-resistant, so you won't have that swelling problem (which can lead to the float being stuck in the float bowl).
