I recently picked up a Sea King 5 h.p. and I don't know much about it. Can someone tell me what year the motor is? The model number is GG9001B and the serial number is 55X578455. The motor runs pretty well, but I'm not sure about the lower unit. Can someone tell me about changing the grease? I notice there is the normal filler plug at the bottom of the lower unit, but right above it is a plug labeled water release. Further up the lower unit and on the back side there is another plug. Is this top plug the upper grease plug? Any help on this or info on the motor would be helpful. Thanks.

That's a 55 seaking. You should have a plug labeled "drain" or "vent". Use Lubriplate 105 grease, available at auto parts stores.
