I am looking at an 1989 Skeeter bass boat.17'6,110 hp johnson.Boat has been stored for sometime.Color is dark blue and quite faded out but boat itself seems to be in ok condition. In general the boat needs alot of TLC.Got it to run using ear muffs in the driveway but only momentarily, found out then primer selonoid needs to be replaced(waiting on part)so haven't been able to put it in the water yet.Trolling motor does not work.Seats and carpet are fair at best.I would say its kind of a project boat, but just wondering about price. The boat is my girlfriends brothers boat and i'm kind of doing all the work to get it running and all but he wants $3000.00 for it and just wondered if you all may have some input on this amount of money.Kind of new to all this so any input would be appreciated......
Thanks...John..

Lets see. $3000 for a not cared for, non-running, non-working trolling motor, 20 year old bass boat. Let me put it this way. If I was looking for a bass boat and came across an add for one like this at that price, I would move on. Now if everything worked like it should, then that sounds like it might not be too bad a deal, but it sounds like not much does work on it at this point. Also, whether a friend, relative, or whatever, I would run a compression check before I commit. You can get a compression tester from an auto parts store for about $15-$20.

edit: And it took me about 30 seconds to find this:
