I have a 1980 Evinrude 7.5 HP motor that runs well but won't maintain the throttle position when released. Using advice from OBJ on this forum, I purchased a throttle friction control, part # 174741. In reading the installation instructions, they direct me to purchasing a part to release the grip from the shaft. THey say this part allows you to depress the detents holding the grip onto the shaft. IS there a way to disassemble the throttle without having to buy this tool? Obviously I will only need to use it once and it seems a shame to spend another 20 or 30 bucks for the tool that I will only use once to install the 20 dollar part?<br />Thanks in advance for any help<br />Mike
