I 'd like to add a pressure gauge for my 1970 115. No tell-tale.
There's a plug on side of #1 cylinder (circled in attached pic). Is this a cooling water port?

Thanks,

TC

Re: Install pressure gauge

That should go right into the water jacket and would be an excellent place. When you route the hose, take it over the top of the cylinders to help keep air out of the cooling system. Are you going to add a tell-tale as well? You can run them off the same line with a tee for the gauge.

Add a tell-tale? Duh! Hadn't thought of that. Good idea. Might it interfere with Vernatherm/T-stat operation, though?
I plan on adding a temp gauge as well. Also a tach (12 pole, right?). Does anyone make a 2" tach?

Thanks!

Re: Install pressure gauge

The fittings on those are only 1/8" id, so the flow is negligible.

You need a 1/8 inch i.d. threaded nipple, part 321886, some hose and the overboard indicator nipple part 321885 that goes through the floor of the lower cowl. Just be sure to route the hose up and then down. Put the tee that comes with the gauge near the fitting in the lower cowl.

Email Teleflex and ask them about the Tachs. They have an excellent support group.

Ezeke,
Any idea where I can find the parts you mentioned, 321886 & 321885 ?

Thanks,
