Install Temp Gauge on 1964 40Hp

Ok, I'm not one for trusting the idiot light on anything and since I believe the motor overheated last time I test ran it, I would like to install a temp gauge. Here are my questions:

Will a temp gauge from Napa work?

What is needed to install it?

How to install it.

Lots of temperature gauges here at iboats. Typically they receive a signal from a sender unit placed under a head bolt.
