Install trim gauge on '01 40HP Johnson

I have the power trim, but am not sure what I need on the motor, to install a trim gauge.<br /><br />Any help appreciated.<br /><br />Marty

First you will need to see if you have a sender located on the inside of i believe the port side transom bracket. It is black with a round body and a arm on it. If it isn't there then you would need to purchaes a sender and gauge for it.If the boat is eqipped with a factory made harness then the wires will be run foward in a bundle of three wires. One black (negitive wire), one purple (positive), one white w/ tan tracer (sender wire).<br />Good luck outboardjake
