Hi all,

Once again I am stuck, and this one drove me nuts. "Tube, water seperation-exhaust elbow" No information in the manual or on the web.

How do I install this peace, what is it for, there are no screws nothing. Does it get shoved in, if so which side? I need help. It is mentioned in the manual just in one of the pictures. On the parts diagram also.

I have a new riser that I am installing that didn't come with this peace so I ordered it when I saw the parts that are needed in the diagram (part no 22).

wow... no one wants to comment about that one!! Oh I couldn't sleep tonight only 4 hours and my eyes are just open like an aol....So I decided to check on my question and to my suprise... you guys are normally quick with answers :) and good ones too...perfect advise. so I quess my space shuttle will not take off yet!!! most propably I will not relax until I can hear the engine firing up properly again without water, so I can start (and I am sure) to fix more things in it from guages to wiring, throtle adjustments, leaking trim cylinder and reverse lock (I have the new o rings for that one).

I have one more question for you guys.... I have the old mechanical fuel pump with the regular filter in it....Do you thing I should install a fuel/water seperating type filter? Is it a good idea to hook it up to the original fuel pump through some brass fittings? What type of sealent compund if any do you guys use for fuel fittings? or shall I install it some where with two screws and add and extra fuel line from it to the fuel pump.

The other thing is water pumps...I should have two pumps, one for fresh water and the other for the saltwater intake.... How do I test them? I was thinking for the salt water, take off the propeller and using a trash can full of water that will test the salt water intake? does that sound right or I am being foolish again? I am a bit far from a lake, and unless I can overhall my trailler rubbers and winch I will not take it down the lake.

Thanks guys ...have a peacefull sunday.

Thanks....

Ok I have been looking and looking ... and I came across a different riser picture...(This is not the same as my riser, mine is a 90 degree riser but this one shows the tube installed inside it).

so the flange side goes in first. But do I slam it in until it goes all the way in? the pins on the side I belive what holds it in inside the riser.

I hate installing something unless I know its purpose and the proper way of installation. So I can tell later where my problems are.

The liner in the riser is a water deflector you can reinstall it as shown in the picture using a block of wood. The separator (very good idea) install it between the tank and fuel pump, remove the filter from the fuel pump and replace the filter in the carb.If your water pump impeller is more than 2 years old replace it.the trash can idea works good.:)

Had a problem ... when tried to install it from the flange side (so it goes in first) it get stuck by the lip in the cast iron (on the inside of the riser) but it goes fine from the other side... will that be a problem installing it that way?

Also it says to use silicon for the shutter installation what type of silicon do you advise with?

Well I ended up installing it the other way round. It will not go in because the cast iron has a lip and the flange prevents it from going in all the way. So I hope it works. Did anyone have a similar problem?

What type of silicon do I use on the exhaust flapper, and if I can find it in Autozone or nap?

Thanks everyone
