just got around to install the pump i bought two months ago and thought i would jot down what i did.

1. disassembled by taking out 6 bolts and splitting halves ,one is under the trim tab.
2.removed old pump ,looked a little hot and and one fin broke.
3. removed oring from drive shaft and pulled everything off including old quad ring.
4. put base gasket then oring on base had to pick the right one as there three, greased oring with marine grease, then put tape around top shaft oring groove and slid base on and pressed in. also put on gasket sealant on gasket.

5. Then sealant ,gasket ,base plate sealant and gasket. everthing only went on one way as the pins aligned them.

6. put a dab of silicone grease on key to hold it.slid on impellar. slid on impeller.

7. silicone grease on impeller and slid on,also grease inside of cup.
slid top half on and turn shaft clockwise and press down went easy.

slid on the slinger seal or whatever it does just sitting on top.remove tape and reinstalled oring . some say no oring but i put it back on.

8. tightened all nuts and bolts on pump wit 1/4 ratchet grabbing high on handle as i did not have a inch pound torque wrench. went around evenly.

9.applied black permatex to quad ring lightly and placed in little counterbore.

10. then i slid water tube in top half and gresed top oring and shaft.
10A- then I made sure the SS washer was on the splined lower shift shaft so the shoe will not drop down.

11. then i layed on bench , dont forget long bolt for trim tab needs to go in first. then rotate shift shaft clock wise so prop shat wont spin ccw slide together starting water tube , then make sure shift foot is point straight and slide together once that engages you can spin prop to line up slines on drive shaft.

12.start the two nuts that were in little coves first and they will need to be tightened by hand as you slide haves together as the nuts wii hold it apart. mine had preload pin on top so it did not slide all the way together a, maybe 1/4 inch or so. tightened all bolts up and called it good . checked the shifting and will pressure test . but it would test good before but i stll got a liitle water in in it so hope this takes care of that.

Final thoughts are put it together on a bench super easy. dont forget thet trim tab bolt before you put halves together . dont forget quad seal oring.
i forgot a step but not sure if needed but sounds like a good idea.
in the base between the two seals ,fill area with grease.
