yesterday i finally installed my cmc power trim unit. i have made a video of it and posted it on you tube. here is the link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=syYZLAQV8Ec. it may still be processing so if you can't see it right now, wait a bit. i just uploaded this video.

the only thing i couldn't show is the actual installation. it was hard hold the camera and hold that thing up and drill holes all at once. but i will say this. you will need a hand with it. hold it where you want it in place. mark the two upper holes first. lay the unit down, drill the two holes. pick unit up and place bolts through the holes. tighten, then raise the unit up and drill the bottom two. it's a fairly easy install. what held me up was my drill shorted out and i had to got to my work and get my other drill. but just under two hours it was on. it's a very nice unit. i'm impressed. now i have to wait until i get to the lake to try out it's performance.

Re: installed my cmc power trim

granted this is a smaller motor, but I transferred the same cmc trim and motor from one boat to another boat. Took the motor off the trim, then removed and installed the trim to the other boat, then installed the motor on the trim. Was basically drilling 4 holes and installing 8 bolts(4 on the new trim mounts, and 4 to hold the motor on the trim unit.) Only thing I had that you didn't was a plate on the inside of the transom on the top where the two bolts are anchored on. This will stabilize and keep the transom safer. But all in all, the video is a good addition to the website.

Nice job it looks great. Loved the video, I really like the ending. Bud on ice is hard to beat on a warm day. Have fun with her no more heavy lifting.

I just installed the CMC PT-130 Tilt Trim on my 1978 StarCraft. Installation was a breeze. Got it done in under 2 hours by myself. I will be using it for advertising at the lake this summer. If your looking for one of these units. PM me I can help.

Re: installed my cmc power trim

i was quite surprised on how easy this install was. the only thing i was worried about was the height of the unit was to be installed. on my boat it was about 1" over the transom height. the cavitation plate seems to be in line of the bottom of the boat. but i won't know for sure until i get it in the water. unfortunetely, here in newfoundland canada, it will be around the 3rd weekend in may before i get to the lake. but, that is earlier than usual. we seem to have a drier and warmer spring than usual.
