my bass boat currently has (1) bildge pump which is positioned in the deepest part of the bildge and is operated with an on/off switch in the dash. I am cosidering installing a 2nd pump that with an integral float switch such as the Rule Mate 500 and connecting it directly to the battery. My question is about the disharge hose. As far as I know the boat only has (1) hole for water dissharge and the current on/off bildge pump is connected to that (there may be another but I think it discharges water from the livewell). Would the auto pump discharge hose be plumbed into the same disharge hose via a "y" or T-type fitting? aprreciate any help or suggestions.

My boat came with two pumps and two separate discharge hoses and fittings. If both pumps came on for a reason I think one hose would restrict the flow.

Does your boat have a place where your steering and throttle cables come out of the back of the boat and run to the motor? If so why couldn't you run a new host from your 2nd bilge pump out that same spot and let it stick out 2 or 3 inches over the back of the boat. A black hose wouldn't be noticeable and this would solve your problem.

Do not "Y" the outputs of the two pumps. You limit the flow to whatever the hose can handle so you defeat the purpose of the second pump. Add another outlet fitting. They are cheap and easy to install. The come with straight or 90 degree hose barbs.
