Installing a Stainless Marine bracket to raise an engine

I'm not sure if this is the right forum, so excuse me if it isn't.

I have an 87 Wellcraft center console that I've done a lot of work on over the past three or so years, including installing a full transom. It has a 25-inch transom and I installed a Stainless Marine single engine bracket without the swim platform. I like my Wellcraft but I'm considering buying an Aquasport hull with a 20-inch transom.

My question is, can I use the Stainless Marine bracket to raise my 25-inch engine to work with the 20-inch transom? I've asked around and I've heard everything from "I don't see why not", to buy another engine (which I really don't want to do) or use a jackplate to raise the engine.

I honestly don't see the benefit in paying the cost for a jackplate. As usual, any help is appreciated.

P.S. Yes, I'm going to do a lot of work on the Aquasport.

I think the answer would be yes.

If when mounted the motors anti ventilation plate is the same height relative to the bottom of the hull your golden.

You can call stainless and ask.

I used to do their powdercoating and they were always cool.

The 20" dimension is from the cutout in the transom to the bottom of the keel. If your installi a full transom on the Aquasport the boat will no longer have a 20" transom. At that point it depends on the height you install the bracket.
