Installing Fuel Pump

Hey guys I am going to be replacing the fuel pump from a 165HP mercruiser GM. I have the sierra fuel pump and gasket. Does anyone know if I need to lube this gasket before installing?

Does't hurt a thing to put a thin layer of gasket sealer on the gasket.
