Ok, so I will be installing a new tach, and need to know which terminal is the unrectified one on the rectifier. It's a 175hp 1985 BMax. Here's a pic.

There's the old tach, original from 1974, not working, I wouldn't expect it to anyways lol, and has no wires hooked up, so I can't follow the old wiring.
Thanks.

Pretty sure you can hook it up to either of the yellow wires on the rectifier.

Tampa - either one of the stator connections. A question for you - is the new tach a direct replacement? If yes, why not just plug it in?

EDIT - Your old tach probably connected to the switch box and the tach signal goes up to the remote control.

Negatory, the control box has the wire harness cut off, so nothing works remotely execpt the throttle and shifting. The new tach will go directly hooked up to the rectifier.
Thanks for the help. Much app.
