Re: installing pressureized water systems?
I believe these are called pressure water pumps not because they pressurize the system. ANY pump is going to provide a certain amount of water pressure. But rather that they are actuated with a 'pressure switch'. The freshwater holding tank should have a fill and a vent towards the top of the tank and and an outlet towards the bottom of the tank. A line will go from the freshwater outlet at the bottom of the tank to a pressure water pump. a line then comes from the pressure water pump and will T to as many different lines as you want. One line to the cold side of the galley, one to the cold side of the head, one to a hot water heater. Then from the hot water heater it can T to as many faucets with a hot side as well if you'd like.
The pump will auotmatically shut off when the pressure in the lines reaches a certain level. When ANY faucet is opened, water pressure in the lines drops, and the switch completes the cicuit and will turn the pump back on again. The pump will run until you close the faucet, then the water pressure builds until the threshold is exceeded and the pump turns itself back off again. I have three faucets with both hot and cold and a single pump for everything.
I hope this clarifies things.
