I am reinstalling a starter on a 71' model 800. The main wire harness coming from the controls has one large red wire and one large black wire. It has been awhile since I pulled this apart, but I am assuming that the large black wire just needs to be grounded. Is that correct? I know that a large wire goes from the starter to the a ground and just wondered if this was the same. Also, there is a very small, 18 gauge or so, wire that I do not remember removing at all. This is apart of a wire bundle that I had to remove so that I would have enough room to remove the starter. It has a wire ring at the end, but is very small. Again, I don't remember removing it.

Thanks
