Most of the people here swear by

3M US: Marine Fast Cure 5200 Adhesive Sealant

You might post in the repair/restore section too

I use 4200 as it comes out and cleans off better than 5200

...but according to the directions, 4200 needs 7 days to cure, 5200 needs 24 hours.

Both the 4200 and 5200 come in fast cure.
The best seal is the slow cure version. On a swim platform i would use the regular 5200 and let it cure before ever launching the boat.

I'd use slow cure 4200. It's not supposed to be permanent just sealed up tight.

LOL ^^^^^^ Other than Gary and the Rat is there any agreement? :D

I always hear 4200 if you ever want to remove whatever it is. I could see a replacement platform in any boat's future ;)

UHH, I with you fellas...

Really though, either of the 3M products mentioned above will work fine, but the 5200 is a stronger adhesive.

Re: Installing swim platform.. What sealant?

thanks for the help guys. I decided on the 4200 as the marine store made it easy for me, they didn't carry the 5200. However at 15 dollars for an enlarged toothpaste tube of this stuff it better be good! I have silicon, "household goop", and "marine tek" laying around i could have used for free, but no-one mentioned these items, so back in the toolbox they went
thanks again!
