Good Day, I need to replace the insulation under the Motor Access Trap (approx 4ft x 3ft x 1in thick). The boat is 1989 and the black material used at that time is deteriorating like crazy. Just buy touching the stuff.
What material should I use to replace it?
I think it needs to be Fire Proof .
Thanks

It's for sound deadening purposes. Use the stuff that's under your car hood/bonnet.

Thanks Guys for the help.
Did the search suggested by AllDodge
I think the stuff needs to be Fire Proof because it is located under the Access Trap above the engine.
And it insulate the Noise Engine also; I guess
This material, taken from Marine Stores, is so expensive. I need approx 4ftx4ftx1in thick x 2 (2 engines)
I am trying to find a cheap solution.
