This roulette insurance is a scam. What do you insure for anyway?<br /><br />I made one claim, when my boat got holed while in the harbour. Stream runs through the harbour, and bad weather brought down a dead sheep with horns. The horns holed the boat as the tide went out, and when the tide came back the boat stayed down!<br /><br />Insurance balked at paying until I got a sworn statement from the harbourmaster. Eventually they paid up, and the deal was that I wouldn't insure with them again. I countered by getting them to give me the boat as salvage. Repaired it and used it for a season, then sold it on.<br /><br />Who wants insurers like that? Ask around the marina - there are still good companies about.
