Hello!
In a few weeks I will be purchasing the parts to build a steam powered launch. The hull comes from a commercial boat builder and has a HIN number. It will not be on the water for 3-4 years while all the parts get built. My question is: The hull is not exactly the cheapest thing in the world, and I would like to purchase insurance for it in the event that it gets destroyed. Is this something that I need to add to my homeowner's policy? Or must I purchase a full "marine" insurance policy, even though it will not be on the water for a while?
I realize this is a very random question, but how do you guys insure your boats when building/restoring, but not using them on the water for sometimes several years.
Thanks in advance!
