I am looking for a tapered plate that goes under the carb for a 302 ford any suggestions on what it is called and were to find one? Also can you block off the vacum advance on the distubutor and still use it or do you have to get a marine distributor. I am the guy who is converting a 302 from a ford truck to use in my 1978 Shamrock boat. Got the marine carb and starter and just trying to finish things up so I can put it in the boat. Any suggestions out there?

I would sugest you replace the distributor with a marine distruibutor or you will need to keep the vacum hooked up. You won't have enough spark advance through your operating range without it.

Tilt shim, wedge spacer, angle spacer.... what ever you want to call it, its the same thing.

Not to many different angles available, if you need an exact angle you will have to get it made.
Its a boat, the angle changes constantly - go with whats close, take measurements with boat on trailer.

Snapperbait pointed you in the right direction.

Aldo
