Hi, I have a 87' 85HP Force, question is the intake<br />bolted to the carb realy needed?? Cant adjust carbs or get sea foam in there realy easy without removing that dang intake, I'm guessing it does but I thought<br />I'd ask anyway

Yes it is really needed. IUt is a spark arrestor and keeps you from blowing up. I hate that thing too. The bottom 2 bolts are hard to remove.

You can add the seafoam to the fuel tank.

Lots of older motors don't have an intake cover.<br />The few I've seen aren't gonna stop any sparks.<br />Mostly serve as a noise suppressor.
