intalling a water pressure gauge

Hello all, I am wanting to hook up a water pressure gauge on my 86 50hp merc 3 cycl. Just wanting to know what i need to get to do this. I know some motors come equipt with an area to already hook this up but I'm not sure what to look for. any help and suggestings on kits to do this would be great.

Most gauge kits come with instrutions, on the water jacket cover you should find a pipe plug with a 7/16 head that you remove and a resticter and elbow go in that and a hose go to the dash where you mount the gauge, some have light to hook up and some don't.

I had the same question...would that be the little brass 7/16th plug that is on the head of my 2002 75?
