thanks to all that replied to my question. it was such good info that i have another one for you. i baught a 9.5 Hp Evinrude sportwin for 50 dollars. just wondering if it is compatiable with the johnson seahorse motor.<br /><br />johnson seahorse 9.5HP model # is 9R-72M and the Evinrude sportwin 9.5HP model #-9722M <br /><br />thanks in advance for all your help

The evinrude's a '67 and the Johnson is a '72. Most parts should interchange with no problems. They are the same design afterall. <br />Johnsons and evinrudes of that age from the same year are mechanically identical, but there's five years between those two engines, and minor changes were made year to year. So the answer is a qualified yes. Double check all part numbers before swapping.<br /><br />Good luck!

Don't think I've ever seen a boat with twin 9.ss on the back - why not!!
