Interchangeable parts?

My question is, what parts are interchangeable between a 68 & 69 55hp Evinrude? I know the carbs are the same and the starter/flywheel is different, but are the big buck items like the powerhead and amplifier interchangeable?

go here and look up the part number of both engines. the go to ishopmarine.com and enter them into the search and see what happens. if they come up with the same new number, then i would say that part is interchangable.

Also can try using the BRP parts catalog (here) to compare part numbers
