Interference/turbulence on transducer when running

I have asked numerous people about the issue of interference caused by the water coming around the back of the tube when running. The turbulence makes it impossible for the transducer to read when moving through the water.

I have thought about creating a mech. to lower the transducer deeper into the water similar to the bracket and shaft arrangement on the trolling motor.
Or designing a bracket that will drop the transducer lower in the present location.
Obviously, the lower it goes the more likely I am the tear it off.

Frustrating not knowing how deep I am when on the move.

Has anyone solved this issue?

The only solution is to continue lowering the transducer about 1/4 inch at the time. You will reach a point that it will work properly, but as you have surmised, you are increasing the risk a damaging it.

Make sure the bolts at the pivot point are tight enough that the water will not kick the transducer up.

+1, just keep dropping it lower on what ever it is on now, trying to get anything that moves to work right I don't think is gonna happen, there is just way to much force involved, what ever you used would probably just bend.

How do you have it mounted now? I had one on my last barge and never had that issue (once I turned the transducer over; the genius PO had it on upside down:facepalm:). He had a bracket welded to the back of the starboard toon and the transducer mounted to that. The bracket was really just a piece of aluminum bent into a rectangle. The motor was only a 50 horse Yammy, so it may be that yours creates considerably more turbulence than mine did, but there was plenty going on back there and mine worked just fine.

Mine is on the starboard with a similar bracket. The ladder is here as well. Boat is powered with 90 Merc. Needless to say, there is a bunch of turbulence. It is mounted properly. The bracket allows the transducer to release (pop up) if it contacts something.

Mine is mounted in the usual position at the rear of the port tube. Depth reads fine, but it shows 1000 fish until I drop below 5 MPH; then reads right; I guess I'm reading bubbles at speed.

Asking the obvious I'm sure, but sometimes the process of elimination requires it. Are you confident the model you're currently using is designed to provide a reading at WOT? Some of them won't.
