Re: Interior paint?

I have used polyurethane paint from my hardware store for years. The stuff I get is intended for outdoor environments like decks or concrete or whatever. $22 a gallon whatever color you want. It has always held up great, and a gallon goes a very long way. It is not brain surgery to slap another coat on if needed.

I used Interlux Interprotect 2000/2001E two part Epoxy barrier coat to paint all as you described.
It is normally used as a water barrier for hulls.
Dries to a light gray matte finish. I wanted my project to be epoxy on epoxy from the inside out.
It is very tough, very water resistant, and when it starts to kick off you can run a textured roller over the deck area to make a non skid surface. It was $59 for a gallon kit.

Re: Interior paint?

Want to know if this is OK. When laying down the fiberglass for floor and transom, I added a black pigment to the laminating resin so that the floor would be black matching the carpet, as well as an additional adhesive for carpet to stick to. Should I paint an additional coat of something else (epoxy water barrier) to protect floor, etc?? Isnt the resin a good enough barrier? Also, what kind of adhesive should I use for carpet?

You can use pigments in epoxy but there is usually no reason to since you need to overcoat it with something else for UV protection. Do ot mix chems like adhesives with epoxy. You may alter its properties and effectivness.

I did not use epoxy, I used polyester. So, should I put something on top of resin? Everything will be covered with carpet except transom, knees, and battery boxes. What should I use, specifically?
