Interior Restoration Project

I took advantage of a 50 degree day here in NW Pa and started working on then interior of my newly acquired bowrider. Being a 30 year old boat I knew things would not be perfect but,... They used particle board on many of the interior framework. The entire engine cover is particle board
Neadless to say I have some work (& $$) ahead of me...

I'm hopeful someone here can direct me to other threads that I could read from and get some insights. And I'm open to any offers of advice!
I have carpentry skills but have never worked on boats. I intend to use quality marine ply & stainless hardware. I'd like to attempt upholstery as well.
The boat was purchased for fair weather fun with our family out on Lake Erie this summer. I'm looking for the most bang for the buck to get this accomplished.

uph, is in my opinon, one of the easest parts of rebuilding a boat.
you can do whatever you want for an interior design, let your imag run wild.
do you want a live well? built in coller?

i wouldnt worry bought marine grade ply $$$$

if you go stock, can u use the old wood for templates?
use 3/4 inch ply for the seat bottoms, and 1/2 inch for everything else.
if you can make a template, dont forget to use a hole saw and cut a few "pigon" holes in the bottom of the seat for the foam to dry and drain.
use a good water seal on the plywood. both sides.

use a good grade foam for the seats. then cover with the marine grade vinal of your choice. i use staples to attach the vinal to the underseat, see if you can get galvanised staples.

for the engine covering, you may want to also add a sound proofing to the interior of the cowling.

just make sure to be safe!!!
you are using cutting tools and drills. wear sarety glasses and try to keep your legs and "fingies" away from where their not supposed to be!

its a fun easy thing to do... dont over think it. it aint rocket science!
