I was wondering if anyone here has used this two-part paint for a floor before. The more I think about carpet for my boat, the more I don't want it. I know Perfection makes a beautiful finish if prepped right, but I'm not sure how it would hold up if it were walked on. I would use a non-slip additive for safety.

Every image I get in my head about what I want this thing to look like when I'm done, I just don't see any carpet anywhere. Just a brilliant white floor thats easy to clean and doesn't hang onto fish guts.

Re: Interlux Perfection for floor??

This is what i found on the interlux website: Perfection is a high-gloss two-part polyurethane finish. Its high-performance formula combines a long lasting abrasion and chemical resistant finish with superb protection from the detrimental effects of UV. UV filters combined with the chemical cure of the polyurethane to give the longest life possible.
* Hardest, abrasion-resistant finish making it an excellent choice for use on high wear areas e.g. decks (with Intergrip additive).
* Chemically resistant to diesel, gasoline, oil, mild acids and detergents
* Can be applied by brush, roller or spray
* Professional results made easy ;)

Re: Interlux Perfection for floor??

Kevin,

Two part Perfection is really tough stuff, I have found that it is a lot harder than the 1 part easypoxy.

Please note, I have not even been in the water yet with my project, I am still walking on it while it is on the trailer.

For nonskid, since I was reglassing the deck, I put a layer of 3/4oz matt as the top layer on the deck and left it rough (didn't do a whole lot of sanding, just so the primer and paint would stick, with a hand sand). When I painted it, got automatic non-skid. this is so far working pretty well, but like I say, not wet yet, we will have to see.

Hope this helps.

Peace.

Ed.

I used it on the cockpit of my Grady. I am very pleased on how it came out. I applied 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint. I added the Interlux non-Skid additive to the final coat.

Thanks guys. I was thinking of using mat as the rough surface because the guy that resurfaced my showers did it and it works great.

How about that rhino-liner stuff? I plan on using it myself.

I think that stuff only comes in black. That wouldn't fit in with the white with red accents I have planed.
