What is a person to do if it is suspected that water is getting past the electric shift wires where they pass through the intermediate case?

Re: Intermediate case leak

I would try to use some RTV on the outside and inside where the wire comes thru the housing

I wound up putting some silicone sealant on mine. It comes off real easy, but doesn't allow the water to pass through the intermediate. Originally, the cable had a section built into it that is supposed to act like a stopper ... mine doesn't do so swell anymore.

I assume you pulled some slack in the two wires before you sealed to allow for the turning of the outdrive.

Correct - I actually assembled the drive and wired up, took her out on the water one time, brought her home, tilted full "up" and slathered some on.
