I'm looking at the engine service manual for Intermediate shaft torque value. Manual states 'Intermediate shaft, forward ....50 Nm (5.0 kpm) (35 lbf. ft.)'. My question is the reference to 'forward' meaning the bolts that attach the Intermediate shaft to the engine?

Thanks,

I'm not sure what you're calling the intermediate shaft...What are you working on?

Sorry, I should have thought for a moment and realized you weren't standing next to me working on an out of the boat AQ125A engine. I am looking for the torque setting for the intermediate housing bolts that mount to the engine.

In the manual, the intermediate shaft torque is not refering to the intermediate housing, which houses the drive shaft, or some call it the PDS (primary drive shaft). The bolts you are talking about would probably go about 60 ftlbs. I can't find it listed in the manual. Snug them up. Throw some mild loctite on them if it makes you feel better.
