Intermittent problem with all my gauges going out at once

I have been having a problem with all my gauges going out at once, then they all come back at the same time. Would this be caused by a bad engine ground or a bad ground to the helm? Or either? or maybe something else? I would apreciate some suggestions from those smarter than I. Thanks.

Loose or corroded common connector? Broken wire, making intermittent contact. Intermittent short.

Likely a loose wire, connection, or corrosion or a keyswitch that is intermittent in voltage output - purple wire. A heavy key ring hanging from the ignition switch can cause all kinds of intermittent problems and switch wear.
