Intermittent Trim...Generation II Merc

Don't know about this one...my trim on my Gen II works intermittently. Sometimes when I actuate my up or down switch the FIRST time the outdrive moves, most times it doesn't move the FIRST time. I don't know about this one. A "Mechanic" put a new switch on the boat for me (located remotely on the instrument panel) and the trim works the same with that one...not good. Some times it takes a lot of coaching (Translated: moving the switch up and down a LOT) to make something move in the back. HELP.

Check,+ Clean, All the connections that have Anything to do with the Trim.........<br /><br />You've got a Fuzzy 1................

Just did this today, cleaned the solenoids and fixed one - ruined the other.<br />Take a voltmeter and have someone actuate the trim, if you hear a click check the voltage on the out side of the solenoid. On mine it is the upper and lower big studs.<br />Hope this helps.<br /><br />This is assuming you get a click but no pump <br />Jeff
