Internal/External Truarc Pliers???

I'm going to be disassembling my 115 Evinrude lower unit. What type of snap ring pliers do i need. I see some that are 8" or so on ebay. Are they long enough? Also do I need internal or external? How far do they need to extend?<br /><br />Thanks in advance,<br /><br />Greg Hodges

You need internals and you need big ones. I don't know how they are measured but mine are about 15" long and are self locking. I got them from the Matco truck. I just bought a new set of tips and saw on the tool list that the pliers are about $80 now. I paid about $60 8 or 9 years ago.
