Hi Friends,
Anyone have any advice or news on the Intex Mariner 400 raft I just purchased? Any pictures? I've been comparing 2.5 hp gas motor or 50# trolling electric motor with its required battery as big and heavy as a car battery. Is this normal within the inflatable boat. Does it fit in its battery compartment area. Delivery on my purchase comming soon. Excited!
Thanks!

Bought one about two weeks ago. Very nice boat. Have made one trip down the Watauga in Tn and it performed nicely. Looking forward to mounting a 50# trolling motor.

Trolling motors are great with inflatables, I have one with my Seahawk II, so if I can fit it all on a 9.5 foot boat, I'm sure you can fit on yours, you may however, need to make room for it by moving the rear seat forward, make sure you also get some protective layer over it to protect the boat's surfaces. If this is your first experience with a trolling motor, take ALOT of time researching proper battery maintinence when the battery is not in use.

The mariner has an excellent weight capacity at 880 pounds, which (many 14' utility boats don't even have that capacity). One word of advice, keep your oars on deck, and always utilize speeds 1-3 during your first few hours, relying on these speeds will give you plenty of run time, 5 will drain the thing pretty fast, so I use it for coming back into shore.
